India have won a total of 20 medals in Table Tennis at the Commonwealth Games including 6 Gold, 4 Silver, and 10 Bronze. It is once again a great moment for Indian sports lovers to witness our athletes participating in the 22nd Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham, England from 28th July to 8th August 2022.

This time it will be India’s 18th appearance at the CWG in Birmingham and players will compete in 9 sports from 20 sports disciplines, including cricket which will make its official debut at the games. India’s sixth most successful sports program at the quadrennial event after weightlifting, boxing, shooting, wrestling, badminton and table tennis. Gold Coast Games 2018
At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Indian athletes bounced back strongly with 8 medals in their kitty. Manik Batra won a gold medal at the CWG in the women’s singles event and she also set a record to become the first Indian woman to achieve this remarkable feat.

Sharath Kamal won a bronze medal, whereas, in the men’s double event, Sanil Shetty and Harmeet Desai bagged a bronze medal. In the Women’s double event, Mouma Das and Batra won a silver medal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in combination with Batra won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles event.

Glasgow Games 2014
It was a disappointing event for the men’s table tennis team at the 2014 Glasgow CWG event, where they were able to win only a silver medal by Sharath Kamal and Anthony Amalraj in the men’s double event.

Delhi Games 2010
The 2010 Commonwealth Games were hosted by India in New Delhi, where athletes were successful in gaining 5 medals. In the men’s single event, Sharath Kamal won a bronze medal. In the men’s double event, he paired with Subhajit Saha and bagged a gold medal. In the women’s double Poulomi Ghatak and Mouma Das won a bronze medal.

Melbourne Games 2006
It was a most remarkable moment for Indians when legendary figure Sharath Kamal bagged the first gold medal in Table Tennis at Melbourne CWG. Also, the men’s team won another gold medal, and the women’s team came up with a bronze medal.

Manchester Games 2002
It was in the year 2002, that Table Tennis for the first time got introduced at CWG. Chetan Baboor won the first medal in men’s single along with Baboor and Subramaniam Raman who clinched the prestigious title in the men’s doubles and men’s team.
